A herd of furry four-legged lawnmowers have arrived at a Wirral nature reserve to help turn a former arable field into a wildlife haven. In spring 2009 Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s flock of Hebridean sheep went through their annual shearing and their fleeces began a journey ‘from Sheep to Chic’.

There may be stock shortages in the supermarket and struggles with dustbin collections but for Cheshire Wildlife Trust, deliveries are coming thick and fast: the Trust’s herd of native breed cattle are in full calving mode, despite the snow.
